Frequently Asked Questions

Where should I stay?

For our guests who wish to stay the weekend, we are recommending the Plymouth Waterfront area. We also encourage you to book your lodging soon; don't wait for your formal invitation! Please refer to the Travel & Lodging page for more details and our best recommendations.

What should I wear?

Our schedule defines the dress code for each event; we have chosen cocktail attire for the wedding itself. This traditionally calls for dresses and suits. Please refrain from wearing white, cream, or ivory as these colors are typically reserved for the bride. Please keep in mind that, weather permitting, the ceremony will be outside. Remember to wear sunscreen and comfortable shoes!

What will the weather be like?

New England weather is often unpredictable, but the average temperature for an August day is around 80 degrees.

How will I get to the venue?

We will have shuttle buses that depart from Hotel 1620 in Plymouth at 4 p.m. on wedding day, making return trips at 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Ubers and Lyfts should also be readily available in the Plymouth area. Please refer to the schedule for the venue address and for shuttle information.

What time should I arrive at the venue?

Please be sure to arrive for the ceremony by 4:45 p.m. We encourage guests to use the shuttle from Hotel 1620, but if you are driving or taking an Uber/Lyft, plan to arrive a bit earlier to ensure everything starts on time.

What time will the reception end?

The wedding should end at 11 p.m., with the final shuttle departing around the same time.

Is there parking available?

Yes! There is ample parking available at The Lakehouse. For parking in the Plymouth area, please refer to the Things to Do page.

Can I bring my children?

Although we love all your budding Bruins fans, we are are having an "adult-only" evening. Only children in the wedding party will be permitted. Thank you for understanding!

Can I bring a plus-one?

Due to budgeting and space constraints, only those listed on your invitation will be permitted to join you. Thank you for understanding!

What type of food will be served?

There will be light passed and stationary hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, a plated dinner, and dessert served during the reception. Please indicate on your RSVP your meal preference as well as any dietary restrictions.

Will there be an open bar at the wedding?

YES! Bring your dancing shoes and we'll bring the fun :)

What is the Welcome Reception?

Our Welcome Reception will be a great chance to break the ice with your fellow wedding guests to kick off a fun weekend. There will be light hors d'oeuvres and drinks in our private room at Tavern on the Wharf.

What is there to do in Halifax and Plymouth?

Please refer to the Things to Do page for our best area recommendations.

Can I bring a gift?

Your presence is enough, but should you wish to purchase a gift, it can purchased from our registry. A wedding card box will also be present at our reception.

Is the wedding venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes! The entire wedding venue is wheelchair accessible. Please refer to Tavern on the Wharf's website for accessibility information for the welcome party.
